count up and down in tenths; recognise that tenths arise from dividing an object into 10 equal parts and in dividing one-digit numbers or quantities by 10

In 'Tenths' pupils practise counting up and down in tenths and begin to recognise that tenths arise from dividing an object into ten equal parts. Pupils begin to connect tenths to place value, decimal measures and to division by 10. This maths teaching resource has been designed to aid delivery of a lesson covering the year 3 curriculum objective listed above.
