This presentation introduces the concept of root words, which can be used in Year 3 when beginning this topic, or in Years 4 to 6 to consolidate existing knowledge. 

Pupils and teachers look at the examples together and discuss any questions or address misconceptions before moving on to the differentiated worksheets, where pupils will create their own group of words from a given root, define them and use them in sentences.
