Year 1 maths programme of study - Number (number and place value):
- count, read and write numbers to 10 in numerals
- identify and represent numbers using objects and pictorial representations
In this maths teaching resource, pupils practise counting numbers 1 to 10 and learn that one object can be represented by another. These activities cover the year 1 curriculum objectives listed above and support the White Rose small steps guidance for year 1 - Autumn - Block 1 - Place Value. Content includes:
- Match the objects to the correct number of fingers class activity with accompanying worksheet
- Use counters to represent the objects and fill in the missing numerals activity with an accompanying worksheet and 1 further differentiated worksheet
- Complete the sentences differentiated activity and accompanying worksheets x2
